General Mullion Cottages (referred to as the ‘Agency’)
acts entirely as a booking agent on behalf of the property owner. Once the holiday
confirmation has been issued, the contract is between the customer (holidaymaker)
and the property owner. If the customer cancels the holiday once the holiday
confirmation is issued, they are liable for the charges in the ‘Cancellation
of Booking’ section. If the final payment is not received by the due date,
cancellation of the holiday may result. We will hold telephone/internet bookings
for 5 working days. Deposit or full payment whichever is applicable will be
required during this period. The reservation will be cancelled automatically
if payment is not received. In the unlikely event that the Agency makes an alteration
or cancellation for any reason, the Agency will make every effort to provide
alternative accommodation of a comparable standard or a full refund of monies
already paid including the booking fee will be returned.
Payment The appropriate deposit plus booking fee and
cancellation premium for holidays made at least eight weeks in advance
of commencement date must accompany bookings. The balance is then due
without reminder at least eight weeks before the commencement of the holiday.
For holidays booked less than eight weeks before the commencement of the
holiday, the full rental plus booking fee and cancellation premium to
be paid at time of booking. Bookings will not be accepted without the
Mullion Cottages booking fee. Cancellation cover is recommended and we
have arranged a very competitive in-house plan, see details below. All
bookings are inclusive of VAT @ 17.5% where applicable. Payments may be
made by cheque, credit card, Switch card, postal order or cash.
Cheques or postal orders should be made payable to ‘Mullion Cottages’.
Any charges raised against us by our bank for handling dishonoured cheques will
be passed on to the applicant.
Bookings from overseas The booking form must be accompanied
by either :
1. Credit card or Switch card details
2. A cheque drawn on a London bank
made payable in Sterling.
We do not send reminders – the balance due date is indicated on
the booking confirmation.
A final receipt will be sent.
Price Changes The agent may need to alter the quoted price,
for booked accommodation, due to errors, omissions or changes in the rate
of VAT. If the price alteration means that the cost of the accommodation
goes up, the customer may cancel the booking without penalty (and/or)
within 7 days of the notification of the increase
Tenure is from 4pm on the day of arrival to 10am on the day
of departure (9.30 am for props 22 and 85). The customer undertakes to keep
the premises and all furniture, fittings and effects in or on the premises in
the same state of repair and condition as at the commencement of the holiday
and also undertakes to leave the premises in the same state as found.
The owner of the holiday property should be
compensated for any damage or breakages, which may occur.
Eligibility The number of persons using the holiday property
is not to exceed the number stated in the brochure and only persons (including
babies) included on the booking form are eligible to stay at the property. The holiday is not transferable but, if individual party members change then you must obtain the agent's consent prior to arrival. Bookings will not be accepted
from groups of single persons under the age of 25 and all male or all
female parties. If you fail to observe any of the conditions, the owner
or his agent will have the right to require you to vacate the property
at once without any compensation becoming payable to you.
Dogs Where accepted dogs are charged at £25 per
week. Property details state if dogs are accepted and if the owners will
accept one or two dogs. Under no circumstances will pets be allowed into
a property without our prior knowledge and payment made in advance. Dogs
where permitted are to be kept under control and exercised off the premises.
Dogs must not be allowed in the bedrooms or on the furniture or left unattended
at any time in the property. Important Note. Where it states NO DOGS in
the property description, this does not guarantee that there have been
no pets in the property.
Brochure Description In view of the fact that the property
descriptions are necessarily prepared some time in advance, some advertised
facilities may change. We may therefore alter property descriptions at
any time to reflect this. When the agency is made aware of these changes
we will make reasonable efforts to inform you of them, either at time
of booking or subsequent to this if appropriate.
In Case of Complaint Any complaints regarding the condition
of the property or facilities available must be taken up with the owner
or owners representative in the first instance, who will use all reasonable
endeavours to solve the problem. If satisfaction is not received please
contact the Agency so that the problem can be resolved as soon as possible
during the holiday period. The owner of the property or his representative
is to be allowed access to the property at any reasonable time during
the holiday period.
Liability Once we have issued your holiday confirmation, your
contract lies between you and the owner of the property. It is the owner’s
responsibility to ensure that the property is in a clean, tidy and presentable
condition for your arrival. It is also the owner’s responsibility
to ensure that the property is entirely safe at all times for your use,
that appliances and equipment are in good and safe working order and that
all health, safety, fire and electrical safety regulations are complied
with. The agency will not be liable for any act, neglect or default on
the part of the owner or his representative, that results in loss, damage,
accident, injury, expense or inconvenience which the guest or any member
of their party may suffer as a result of the holiday, unless we the agents
are responsible. The agency’s liability to the guest is limited
to the total of monies paid by the guest to the agency, plus any reasonable
expenses.
Previous Brochures This brochure and the Booking Terms and
Conditions it contains supersedes all previous issues.
Changing a Booking Once a booking has been accepted
by the Agents, the booking can only be changed to another cottage by treating
the original booking as a cancellation. The holiday dates may be changed
as long as it is in the same year as original booking providing the cottage
is available for the new dates and the owners are agreeable to the change.
There will be a change of booking charge of £20.
Cancellation of Booking Holiday cancellation cover is
highly recommended. Mullion Cottages are pleased to offer a Holiday Cancellation
Plan at a modest extra cost, please see below for details. If you have
to cancel a confirmed booking and do not have appropriate cover then the charge for the cancellation is on the following scale:
1) Cancellation received more than 8 weeks before commencement of the holiday - Deposit only
2) Cancellation received between 4 and 8 weeks prior to cemmencement of the holiday - 75% of total holiday cost
3) Cancellation received less than 4 weeks prior to commencement of the holiday - 100% of total holiday cost.
If you have taken out our cancellation plan, and the reason for cancellation is included in the cover, then the above charges will be paid by us..
